Walking into the store I couldn't help but notice that it was round, and I immediately thought of King Arthur and the Knights at the Round Table. I was expecting to see characters such as Lancelot and Guinevere asking if we needed any assistance! Nope, just ladies with green aprons! Who by the way were wonderful and super friendly. But then, why wouldn't you be friendly in bakers heaven!

There were display like this set up through the entire store. This one happened to focus on their scone mix, which by the was was on special, and happens to be delicious!

| Cookie Cutters Anyone? |
There were cookie cutters galore! This display had so many different cutters! If you were looking for one, you'd find it!

| Hot Beverage niceties! |
Who knew there were so many toys for hot beverages.

| Best Rolling Pin in the World! |
This rolling pin was designed by a former member of the Boston Symphony Orchestra. I own two of these rolling pins in different sizes and I love them!

| Picnic Ants Dinnerwear |
There were some fun novelty items too, like this cute "ants" picnic dishes and linens. And how about the salt and pepper shakers - so 1950's!

ReplyDeleteI am amazed they let you take pictures in the shop. In England, I once wanted to take pictures in a very pretty shop and they wouldn't let me.
The cookie cutters are great - one of my friends always gets at least one new, special cookie cutter from us from the Christmas market (of course this present goes with a vested interest, as we then benefit from his cookie-making!).
That is a fantastic rolling pin, those handles, long and red are so sensible. I'm looking for a donkey cookie cutter, and a hedgegog would be nice too. What happiness there!

ReplyDeleteEven for anyone, such as ourselves, who has no particular culinary skills, this shop surely cannot fail but to fascinate. We do not think that we have ever seen anything quite like it in the UK or, indeed, elsewhere.
Fantastic store, and you all made quite a dent, a trunk full of fun stuff! I could spend hours and hours in a place like that!

That's someplace I would LOVE to go! I mentioned King Arthur flour on my blog one time and they wrote me! I was so excited and thrilled! That's the only flour I use...the whole wheat is the BEST! I see so many wonderful things in their store! Lucky you! ♥

ReplyDeleteOh I so want to go there! That would be a wonderful day trip or weekend trip for us. Since I've used nothing except King Arthur unbleached and unbromated flour for my entire adult life, I can't think of a more fun shop. And I see that I'll need to take some dough before I can make some. Thanks for the fun tour!
