Wishful Wednesday

This is where I wish I was, in Maine, on the beach!  Instead, I'm in Massachusetts waiting for another 6 - 15 inches of snow to arrive.  Thankfully I love my job, it takes the edge off, but I'm so done with winter!!!  If you are in this storm's winter path, keep safe!

How about you?  Where do you wish you were today?

If you haven't been to the blog Cafe Chatelaine you must go.  Elaine did a beautiful Valentine Tea post at one of her friends homes!  Enjoy

  2. Mercifully, I am right where I wish to be. Hope that you get a snow day or two that you don't have to pay for in June.

    1. We ALWAYS have to make up snow days, the department of education demands 180 days - it would be a huge exception to be excused from the 180 days - like nuclear war! LOL!!!

  3. I'm afraid to tell you that I'm in SW Florida, expecting the same storm passage tonight, dropping our temperatures into the high 40's, leaving us breezy and a high of 72 tomorrow. After living in the Poconos, I made my husband promise this little Southern girl I would never have to be cold again and bless him, he's kept that promise.

Stay warm Mary and keep on having good beach thoughts. You won't envy us down here in August when you're in Maine and it's hot as you-know-what here and a big hurricane is coming :)

  4. Though snow began to fall here about three hours ago, I am probably where I'd rather be on this day - thankful for a warm home and the pot of hot tea I just finished drinking!:-) Take care, and stay safe and warm!

  5. I'd like to be anywhere that it's summer. Right now the UK is being battered by storms and lots of the country has been flooded for weeks. It's been dreadful, although we haven't had any snow here at all. I didn't realise you had to pay snow days back ... we don't over here.
    Keep warm and safe x

  6. If you were on a beach in Maine right now, I imagine it would be cold.

Right now I too would like to be on the beach and I could just walk out to the beach, but my sweetie just came home from the hospital after surgery and he is out of it so I need to play nursemaid.

  9. Oh yes, another snowstorm. Seems to snow every other day lately. Luckily, I can work from home if need be. I think tomorrow I will stay home. I am going to get less snow than you I think 3-6 inches. Very sweet of you to share a link to my blog. Thank you!!

  10. I'm right where I want to be for now ... in another month, I'll be wishing I was somewhere tropical ... like Hawaii or Puerto Rico ... enjoy your snow day ... June will come and you'll have to make it up, but at least you'll have a warm cozy day on Friday!

  11. I feel for you, Mary - winter is my least favourite season! This time, we were lucky enough to experience the mildest winter I can remember in a long time, no snow, not many nights with temperatures below freezing.
Where would I want to be right now? At home - just where I am :-)

  12. Beautiful photograph! I'm so sorry you all have been hit with such a severe winter. The weather is lop-sided as so parts of the country have been so dry that there will be droughts this summer. Hang in there .. and if I were you I'd be getting a little cabin fever at this point!

  14. What a beautiful scene! I'm happy to be here in Florida where the temps are much nicer. I guess if I could have my wishes....I'd be looking out at the ocean though! Happy Valentine's day my friend!

  15. I wish I was back home in Florida right now. We are visiting our kids in NC and got snowed in yesterday. Luckily we did not lose power. Your beach picture looks so appealing Mary.

  16. Hi Mary, Wish you were out of the snow to enjoy Valentine's day. Thankfully we got out of New Hampshire the day before the storm a week ago. So far we have missed two storms, three after this weekend. Unfortunately our little holiday in Florida is almost over and we will return to see our home covered with a couple more feet of snow.

  18. I'm very happy to be here in Colorado right now, Mary, but I would not mind a trip to Hawaii or a tropical island ...later on in the summer I'll yearn for Italy! :)

Don't dispair --spring it on its way!

  19. What a gorgeous photo! I don't mind the pretty snow, but it is starting to wear on me now. I would love a trip to Italy!

  22. Hopefully your weather has improved a little in the past few weeks. It's really starting to feel more like spring here in Ireland.

  23. Well, I have never been much of a pie baker, but I am quite sure no one in my family will object if I give it a try. I have taken down this recipe for a future trial. Darn, I'll have to buy crème de menthe and crème de cacao, as I don't happen to have any around...
Thanks for the link to Café Chatelaine. I have been enjoying my visits.
Hope you are having some sunshine, warmth and snow melting.
