What a dish!
We have an extra seat at the table, would you like to join us? I love using my Christmas dishes and other table top toys! I started collecting these dishes when I was a teenager, and I still love them today! It was considered VERY decadent to buy dishes that I would only use for a few weeks a year - mom was correct, but I did it any way!
Then at my bridal shower, mom added 8 place settings, plus many serving pieces to my 8 place settings - then she started collecting her own pattern! LOL!!!
Happy Weekend!

Hi, That looks so beautifully fresh and festive!
ReplyDeleteYou have set me off now, I may have to explore my cupboards and 'check them over' (oh okay then, have a little play) later!
Mary, my mum has special Christmas dishes, too; hers are a creamy white with gold rims and golden stars all over, very pretty. It is nice to have something special for this special time of the year, isn't it!
ReplyDeleteThat looks so lovely and elegant. I would love to sit down to your table any day.I have a few Christmas serving pieces that is it.

Lovely Mary..so nice to have special things & traditions for different holidays. Happy December! Xo
ReplyDeleteThey are lovely plates! I have a special dinner service that I use for Christmas and other holidays, a Ridgway Windsor Blue set, and I love it!
ReplyDeleteI've always wanted special tableware for Christmas and other holidays, but have never lived in an apartment or house with enough space to store them for the other 11 months of the year. So I'm enjoying your place settings vicariously!
ReplyDeleteI remember when I bought a set of Christmas dishes at Target a few years ago. I felt so guilty about it, but I do love to put them out for that one month a year. It's good to be decadent once in a while.
ReplyDeleteAww they're so very beautiful! You're inspiring me to get myself some Christmas crockery!
ReplyDeleteI have always loved that pattern....
ReplyDeletei'm on my way...

What a beautiful place setting, and I would love to join you. Only problem is, it probably isn't a good idea to trust a sometimes-klutz like me around a white tablecloth.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful table! I've often eyed those same dishes. :)
ReplyDeleteWish I had had that foresight when I was a teenager - all my money went on clothes and records!!!
ReplyDeleteSo nice of your Mum! Beautiful place setting.
I have always loved your Christmas dishes. You always set a gorgeous table no matter what dishes or china you use.
ReplyDeleteYour dishes are so pretty. I LOVE my Christmas tree dishes, too. The pattern is Nikko.
ReplyDeleteGot them more than 25 years ago and I carefully box them each new year. Lost a couple in transit but the rest still look very gorgeous on the holiday table.
I keep it set throughout December...wash, dry, reset! I LOVE Christmas. Susan
Not that many people think ahead about collecting Christmas china when they marry. Clever you and I know you've enjoyed it through the years. Mom must have thought so too.
