Resonate . . .

I came across these two quotes today and they just resonated with me.  The 1st one was posted on FB by a co-worker and the 2nd one I came across on pinterest.  Enjoy!

This will be hanging up in my classroom next week!  I believe it's important for middle school students to realize that there's more to life than being instantly gratified!  Maybe it will even resonate with some of the adults in the building!  There's a good lesson in this quote.

I just love this.

What's your favorite quote?

  1. While I do not really have a favourite quote (there are just so many wise words out there), I like to say (so this is something like my personal motto, made up by and for myself) "Trouble is what others make of it".

  2. "Never forget; wherever you go - there you are."

[Pig-stealer, in Mad Max beyond the Thunderdome. Should be in an Aussie twang.]

Very Zen. I think that this post-apocalyptic Australian survivor was intending to remind us to live the current moment and circumstance. Or more likely it was just a throw-away line!

  3. Wonderful quotes ... I love them both! I wouldn't be able to live without some art in my world!

I love the Dolly Parton quote: "If you want rainbows, you gotta put up with some rain!"

  5. Love these quotes; your students are lucky to have a teacher who cares enough to make them understand the Real world.
When I go through a bad stage in my life;we all have those, I always say to myself: This Too Shall Pass. It makes it easier to keep going.

  6. Both quotations are wonderful and poignant. My favorite and the one I use every year in my children's yearend scrap book is from "Anne of Green Gables".... "Tomorrow is a new day with no mistakes in it". Thanks for sharing some wonderful wisdom. Hugs, Bonnie

  7. I think I like the first one the best! I agree with you that it's so important for children and young adults to understand that there's more to life than being instantly gratified. As they grow older they realise how true that is but can cope better when they are not use to always getting their own way!

  8. I also find quotes very inspirational. One of my favorites is the following.

"Happiness is like a butterfly, which, when pursued, is always beyond our grasp, but, if you will sit down quietly, may alight upon you."

  9. yes!!! these are genius quotes... the one about the ocean is wonderful... my favourite quote is 'if at first you don't succeed then perhaps sky-diving is not for you!'... because sometimes, getting it wrong is life's way of telling you not to waste time on something you're not that good at!

  10. You have shared two good ones, but look at all the other great quotes that others have shared! Lately, I have been living with these in mind ...

"Judge not lest ye be judged." and "There are many ways to the top of the mountain."

  11. They are two good quotes but the one that resonates with me is the second one. It's something I learned a bit later in life and it has made a real impact on me.

  12. Lots of good quotes here, and there are a kazillion more to choose from, but I'll throw you two more: "It's more important to be kind than it is to be right." And "May I never be so blind that all I see is my own small world, nor so small that all I am is all I ever hope to be."
