My husband and I love to explore Maine, and the other day we took a hike down into the woods to see this really lovely waterfall. While the hike down was a little slippery at time, it was well worth it. Next time I think I'll take a picnic lunch! I hope you enjoy my photos!

It's nickname is the "Bridal Veil" |

The sign at the top of the falls, and the top of the falls below. |

A Woodpecker's work on a fallen tree! |

We all needed a drink! |
This is what we did when we got back, we steamed 10 lobsters in our pot on the grill, there were five of us for dinner! The lobsters were sweet and tender!
What great photos. I like that the falls is called bridal veil, it looks just like a flowing veil. Duke must have had a wonderful time in the woods. The lobstahs looked delicious.
ReplyDeleteWow, those lobsters look so yummy. Lucky you!
ReplyDeleteI am following you back. We have a gas fire pit here, and most of them are gas in the area, but we can always have to option of throwing some wood on top of the lava rocks!
ciao!
Lovely photos into the woods and the falls! I would have loved sitting down to one of those lobsters (sorry, southern pronunciation). They look delicious!!
ReplyDeleteBest,
Bonnie
Your hiking spot is just gorgeous. I bet it is beautiful in the Fall as well. Those lobsters look so good. I think we are having a feast of them later this week at the beach.
ReplyDeleteWhat a perfect Maine day! Have you seen those bottles that are for dogs to drink from? I meant to get Molly one because it's so easy and convenient when out and about.
ReplyDeleteHi Vee, yes, we have one of those little doggie water bottles, Duke really enjoyed using it too!
DeleteHi, What incredible scenery you've shared. Oh how we love Maine. Love the falls as well; didn't realize you had a black poodle-so cute. Before we found Hunter, we were going to have a black miniature poodle. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Noreen
Love the name of that fall-it really looked the part...
ReplyDeleteNo chance of walking or BBQs here much at the moment. The rain stopped briefly for an hour today but apart from that it has been almost nonstop for about 4 weeks now...
One day Summer will arrive here in South Wales...
Oooo!! I'd spend lots of time there if I could!
ReplyDeleteI love waterfalls and nature in general. To eat lobster is a very rare thing for us...I'd sure get into that too!
I have a blog friend who, with her husband ...go to as many waterfalls as they can! I went to one they suggested once and it was so incredible.
http://betsyfromtennessee.blogspot.com/ you'll find her waterfalls posts down her sidebar a ways.
Those lobsters look fantastic. On this side of the pond you'd have to have a serious bank loan to eat Lobsters like that. Is there a reason why the water in the stream is so BROWN?
ReplyDeleteoh my word those lobsters... those LOBSTERS... I am so ridiculously jealous!!!... lovely pictures, Maine really does look wonderful. And look at Duke... need a drink please!!!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous waterfalls and worth the walk. We have some similar here in the mountains and I never tire of their beauty.
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of beauty, please pass that plate of lobstah. That is one thing we don't get here and I miss so much...
Sam
The hike to the waterfall sounds like my kind of thing exactly! And I can see where its nickname comes from :-)
ReplyDeletethanks a lot for this beautiful walk!
ReplyDeleteThe waterfall is gorgeous, but the lobsters are even MORE gorgeous. (WHAT? I like to eat!)
ReplyDeleteThis looks like true summer fun! Lobster is my favorite...yep, even before pizza and chocolate! Thanks for popping by...I had lost your blog!
ReplyDeleteoh my gosh your pictures are beautiful and now i am craving lobster and yes feel sorry for me... the only place around here with it is red lobster... your peanut soup in the earlier post sounds wonderful. my husband grew up in europe so ate pindo sauce with everything, i know he would have loved the soup!i will have to make it for the kids. enjoy your evening!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful post! This is a stunning place...I love the falls particularly. The lobsters must have been wonderful...we have also been enjoying lobster this summer.
ReplyDeleteThat last picture is a WHOPPER! The most Lobster's I've ever seen is swimming in a tank at Wal-Mart. Yours are beautiful and I beat they tasted wonderful!

(I wondered why that guy at the political blog was reading my blog. LOL)
I LOVE the name of your blog! I'm a new follower. Is there a way to subscribe to your blog by email?
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos and scenery. how fun to take this hike and see the lovely waterfall. It's great for the family and Duke. Love the dinner afterwards....Thanks for visiting and following. So glad you like my bread spoons.
ReplyDeleteI am surprised more people haven't responded to them. I think they are quite unique. I just follower you back via, both Google Friend connect and Linky. Have a great day. Linda
I love water falls, very nice images folks. Richard
ReplyDeleteI loved the photo of the steamed lobsters...I was just telling my New England Bro in Law last Sunday about the first (and only) time I cooked lobster (back in 1970 something). When I got to the part about dropping them into a large vat of boiling oil his face turned purple and a fit of coughing and choking stopped the story cold. When I was able to continue amid the hooting and howling of laughter I gathered my shreds of dignity and reminded him I was practically a new bride. All in all he has a great story to tell his friends when they gather, as they do every summer, on Block Island. Here's to hoping a pot of steamed lobsters is in my future. He does love to show off!
ReplyDeleteP.S. I'm your newest follower! Thanks for following me!
ReplyDeleteLobster is so cheap in Maine right now...I think everyone is eating it. Your day looks nice.
ReplyDeleteAha! I did leave a comment on this post! I'd love to go there!
