She was THE vacation resort in the 1800's. It's where President Kennedy's parents, Rose and Joe fell in love in 1907.
There are 7 miles of gorgeous sandy beach and I thought I'd share it with you!
This view is a 7 minute walk from our cottage.
When we walk down Old Orchard Street, this is what we see.
I love all the "party" lights in this photo!
We can hear all the screams of excitement in the evening as they waft up the hill.
Swimsuit styles have changed too! LOL!!!
More on OOB to come!
How fun to live so close to the pier and beach. I imagine you walk there quite often. I know we would.

Hi Sam, we walk there all the time. We especially like to stroll down after the evening news. We've seen some very interesting characters. Thank you for the visit and have a wonderful weekend!
DeleteVery pretty at night! Really? Joe and Rose, eh? 1907... I doubt that he fell too far, but am quite certain that she fell deeply in love. Is it noisy where you are or can it be tuned out?
ReplyDeleteHi Vee, it's true, Joe & Rose. It's not noisy at all, We are at the top of the hill, and it's actually very quiet, it's only at night when we're sitting around the fire pit that you can hear the screams of excitement!
DeleteNice pictures!
ReplyDeleteMust be fun to have a festive place like that to spend time at :)

DeleteHi there, This looks like a wonderful, fun place to play. Reminds me of Santa Cruz in Ca. An old amusement park on the ocean-such fun.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing; enjoy your time there.
Hugs,
Noreen

DeleteLooks like a great beach spot!
ReplyDeleteHi Michelle, it's wonderful! Warm day, sandy beach, and cool evenings! We are blessed to have the summers off. During the school year we race up here on Friday evenings after work! We love it! Thank you for the visit and have a wonderful weekend!
DeleteIt's fascinating, isn't it, how a place can completely change atmosphere with a different time of day (or night) or in a different season. Great pictures - not easy to get good night-time photos!
ReplyDeleteHi Meikes, thank you, my hubby gave me a nice camera a few years ago! I'm still learning how to use it! Thank you for the visit and have a nice weekend!
DeleteI spent a fair amount of my teen years there when we finally got wheels. My parents were lake people. A lot of great memories of a lot of great friends and we always went at night.
ReplyDeleteCathy
Hi Cathy, so, you were raising Cain in OOB, back in the day! I knew you had a wild streak! ;) Thank you for the visit and have a nice weekend!
DeleteGreat photos! Must be nice to be able to walk to the beach! Are you going to the Ocean Park illumination night? I am planning a trip there with friends.
ReplyDeleteHi Elaine, we are having a big family party that weekend. Celebrating 3 nieces and their accomplishments, 2 rec'd masters and 1 is going to medical school. Part of the weekend will include a trip to Illumination Night! You'll love it!
DeleteWe've heard about OOB often... love reading about it and seeing photos here on your blog!
ReplyDeleteSummer is all about fun and OOB has its share. Love the nighttime photos. I hope you are having a great summer. :) Karen (Back Road Journal)
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful amusement park/beach. It reminds me of Coney Island in Brooklyn--I was a short train ride away and went often!
